Journey of Discovery

In August Adam & I will be joining a team that is heading to Botswana Africa on what is called a “Journey of Discovery.” On this trip we hope to discover new levels of our purpose, passion and potential, while working with local social organizations that rescue hundreds of lives every year.
Past JOD teams have conducted feeding centres for children, free medical and optometry clinics, prison and sex trade workers programs and have also constructed shelters, latrines, micro-farming projects, and even an entire school for a mountain village in Haiti.
Over the past two years, a member of the JOD has gone to Botswana to work in a clinic operated by the non-profit World Spine Care and develop relationships for other projects. This year we are sending a full team to begin construction of a humanitarian relief and training station for future sustainability which will also support local employment. We will be visiting remote villages (by donkey cart!) to supply hygiene, education, clothing and other donated supplies and we will be connecting with local communities and leadership for additional social projects.
Our first challenge is to raise funds for our ground costs as well as the social projects. The organization behind the Journey of Discovery has kept administrative and overhead as minimal as possible so that the majority of funds we raise as a team go directly to impact the country itself.
We need community and financial support. If you would be willing to support us financially we would love to represent you on this project and share with you what impact your support made when we return. At this time we need to raise roughly $9,000 for both of us to attend this journey. This isn’t about us or the money, it’s really about rescuing lives, and I hope you will consider supporting us in this mission.
