George Silva's Dialysis Fund!

Our father, George Silva has renal failure, and is in need of a kidney transplant in order to get him back to normal life. In the meantime, he is 3 days a week of Dialysis, which is an exhausting treatment that cleans the blood like kidneys normally do. It is absolutely draining, and requires Many medications, down time and much healing. This is his 3rd kidney failure that will require a transplant to improve his health. His 1st came July 14th1989 (transplant happened on his wedding anniversary with our mother, June) and 2nd was in August 25th 1991 (on our mother's Birthday). After 20 plus years since his transplant in 1991, his kidneys can no longer manage and requires dialysis and a 3rd transplant.

As a family we have stayed strong and bonded, but it has been very tough. Our father is unable to work due to the kidney disease and our mother was laid off from Orchard and stays home now to take care of him. With the help of my sister Jenna and brother Josh, we have managed to keep our heads just above water.

I(Jodi) tried donating my Kidney to him, but unfortunately our bodies did not match. I entered my information into the National Kidney Registry, hoping to do a chain transplant, where I give my kidney to someone else that I match, and then someone donates to my dad. Hasn't been successful yet, but Fingers are crossed! The registry is amazing as it has already saved my dad's life twice. And many more people. We encourage everyone to become a registered donor thru your drivers license, as it may help save several peoples lives.

Any possible donations will be going to my father to help pay the medical expenses that the insurance will not cover (which is a lot).

We appreciate anything and everything that is given as we know that life is not easy financially.
