Senior Secondary Education

Donation protected
In October 2018, I visited a shelter and education home in Kano, Nigeria, where I met children who have lost their parents to the conflict with Boko Haram. Some of them have lost their entire families.

These children found a place of safety and an opportunity for education thanks to Fiona Lovatt, who established this home and 4 other similar homes in Nigeria where up to 200 children without parental care live.

In Nigeria where more than 100,000 children live on the street, where about 10.5 million of the country's children aged 5-14 years are not in school, and where there is no effective child protection system,  places like the one I visited in Kano are crucial to ensure a kid's safety and an opportunity for education.

This year, 14 of children from the homes will be able attend the secondary formal education system. And, my dream is to make sure they can afford to do so.

Is costs approximately $300 per year for a child in Nigeria to attend secondary school (including school fees, transportation cost, uniforms, shoes, textbooks, food, and school utilities) and I hope that together we can send several children to school.

This is our chance to act upon, "What can I do?"

This is also my birthday wish. I will be 35 on June 29, and instead of taking me out for brunch or dinner or getting me a gift, please help me fulfill my birthday wish to send these children to school.
