Austin Texans

Our Austin Texans 98 Boys team has had a historically successful year. The Boys began play this spring in the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) Presidents Cup competition by playing against teams both in and out of the Greater Austin area. They had a dominating performance and won 1st place in the Western District Division One Association (WDDOA) with a record of 7 Wins, 1 Tie and 0 Losses. After winning the Western District, the Boys played for the State championship in San Marcos, TX. They won all 4 games to win the South Texas State Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) Championship to represent South Texas youth soccer at the USYS Region III Championships in Decatur, AL. At this event, the Boys not only won all 5 games they played in, but also scored 17 goals and only conceding 1 goal to become the Region III Champions. The Boys will now represent the Southeastern United States at the National Championship Playoffs in Greenville, South Carolina and be one of four teams, out of the thousands of teams that competed this spring around the country, who have a chance to be crowned champions.

With the current economic condition however, some of our Austin Texans families are having a hard time paying their son’s fees for this national tournament. These are local friends and neighbors of yours whose children are representing the Greater Austin area at one of the highest levels of soccer in this country. They are making not only Pflugerville, but all of those living in Central Texas proud.
