As most of you know, Jamie is moving here, to Wuhan, this August. He will be taking classes at Wuhan University, studying Chinese. Of course, so much of his time here will be ministering and serving Chinese people.
Jamie is not planning on raising any financial support. He has saved up money to pay for his classes and wants to find a job to support himself while he is here.
However, a cool thing about raising financial support is that when others give to you, they are, through their genero
sity saying, "I support you. I agree with what you're doing." One of the best ways to show someone that you agree with their decision and what God is doing in their life is to support them financially. So, what we've decided to do is SECRETLY raise $2,500 for Jamie. $2,500 will cover Jamie's living costs for an entire year. We feel that through donations others will be able to demonstrate to Jamie, "I support you. I agree with what you're doing." We feel like this amount of money will release a huge burden for him and that he will feel incredibly blessed and supported by those who care for him.
By August, we'd love to approach Jamie and say, "Listen, we know you weren't planning on raising money, but, because we love you and support what you're doing, we want to bless you and lighten your financial burden. We know that God is going to use you in China, and we want to be a part of that."
