Hey Friends,
Lindsay's travel companion and best friend, Lily, has found herself in a bit of a ruff spot. After taking Lily to the vet again today, Lindsay was told that she needs to take Lily to a neurologist to run further tests as well as to get a MRI ASAP.
She has begun to show signs of neurological, muscular, and potentially skeletal issues. Lily also has an abscess in her mouth which has caused her face to swell severely. This was treated in an emergency visit recently, but will need surgery to remove the remainder of the tooth causing it. While she is completely mentally alert with no fever, Lindsay has started having to carry Lily around the house for the past few weeks because she has been unable to hold herself up for more than a few minutes. She is wobbly, knuckeling, extremely stiff (unable to bend elbows), panting more than usual, breathing irregularly on occasion, has an extremely enlarged liver, irregular spleen, with legs constantly splaying. Lily has fallen and face planted while attempting to walk or move in the last few days.
At the moment, they are unsure of her condition as it is extremely unusual and escalating quickly, the MRI will be able to send them in the proper direction for treatment so that Lily can continue living out the many years of life she has left in her.
The last thing Lindsay wants to do is ask people for money, but she has found her self in a situation that needs to be handled with urgency. After moving states to start a business, picking up a second job, a $1k emergency car repair a week ago, and a multitude of familial illnesses, in addition to several other recent vet visits, luck has been minimal, which now requires outside assistance. Knowing how much Lily means to Lindsay, it is impossible to stand by and not help in some way-which is why I have decided to start this GoFundMe. All funds donated will go directly towards Lily's veterinary bills, any remainder will be donated to OCPBR (Orange County Pitbull Rescue) who Lindsay has previously volunteered with. Lindsay will post the with the vet bills as they come in as well.
I know there are millions of these going around the internet these days, but it is true when people say that any little bit does help. Lindsay + Lily are forever grateful for whatever help friends and family can lend.
