Greetings all the way from Raleigh, NC! Most of my family and friends who will read these words are from all over the US – and some abroad. As you know, I am completing my fourth year of doctoral work in Theological Studies at Regent University. This program is definitely tailored for the life experiences I have had to endure. Despite losing my biological father, my stepfather, suffering a miscarriage and giving birth to two beautiful girls, I have maintained above a 3.7 GPA, completed all language exams, comprehensive exams (this includes 18hrs of writing), and a 2 hour oral defense, I can testify that I am almost there! But while I participate in the dissertation process, I am constantly writing, thinking, and reading.
I have been extended an invitation to participate in the Black Theology and Leadership Institute program at Princeton. I am asking you to consider partnering with me in this experience. The BLTI is hosting this 7 day institute with intensive curriculum designed to prepare those called to responsible leadership within the church. The dates are for July 12-19th.
As some of you know, the academy exercises profound influence upon society. This opportunity allows me the chance to maintain an effective presence within the academy and build greater bonds with others during this think-tank experience. I am confident the investment will be fruitful not only in my own academic, professional, and spiritual life, but in the lives of theological educators from around the world whom I am able to influence through my own research, writing and discussions.
Unfortunately, none of the cost of the Institute is covered. I need to raise the tuition along with travel costs (gas, hotel stay, books, and food) for the four of us amounting to $2800 (this includes fees for gofundme and wepay). Would you consider helping to make this opportunity possible by partnering with me financially?
