Dax Roniger's fight with leukemia

Donation protected
In September of 2013 Dax was diagnosed with MDS which is the early stages of leukemia. He had been responding well to the treatment and was getting ready to get on the donor registry for a stem cell transplant. Last month Dax numbers crashed, he stopped responding to the chemo treatments and his MDS has progressed to acute myleiod leukemia. They are sending him up to Seattle to the university of Washington for chemo to get him into remission from the leukemia before they can do the stem cell transplant. He will be hospitalized for about a week while they give him the chemo but we will have to stay there for a month for follow up tests and appointments 3x a week. We will have to stay at the SCCA house which is $72-$80 a night but I am finding out how much or if insurance covers. What we need help with is day to day living costs, gas or transportationon to and from Seattle for me and any other costs that will come up that we don't know about. Our trip to Seattle has been delayed because Dax had to be hospitalized two days before we were headed to Seattle. His health declined so rapidly he was moved to the ICU on Monday 6/30. He has a blood infection, spinal meningitis, and pneumonia. They still are running cultures and tests to try to figure out the where it all came from. They now are trying to build his strength back up so we can get out of here and get up to Seattle to start chemo. I would love to do a fundraiser get together but we just don't have the time to set it up. Last month he was doing so well and then in the blink of an eye he has stopped responding to treatment and lost 20lbs. Every little bit helps and if you don't feel comfortable donating this way call me or message me and we can meet in person. I still have a $29,000 bill from September that I am trying to get insurance to pay plus another bill from his hospital stay in October for $1,300 for a procedure that was done by a doctor that doesn't take his insurance even though the hospital does... Didn't make sense to me either...anyway everywhere I turn it looks like someone wants more money...I just want Dax to get treatment and get better. He just turned 37 years old and I'm not ready to lose him yet...I lost my Dad to cancer in January and I'm not about to lose him.
