I am deeply humbled at the past donations that have come in. It has been a couple years since this account was open. We are again in need and asking help for land expansion to care for our over 100 animals here and help with ongoing expenses so that we may continue to offer free therapy visits for differently abled children and to continue to keep our animals here thriving with ability to take in animals in life or death situations when they have no where else to go. For the past several years we have taken in so many animals rescued from abuse, slaughter or exploitation. Many were so very sick when they came to us, barely able to walk and fearful of humans, but all are thriving today with a sparkle that came back in their eyes with your support and help from the community , our awesome volunteers, compassionate animal lovers, our veterinarians, and most importantly for the Stevens Foundation whose generosity over the years is unsurpassed. We could not do what we do here to help animals and humans alike without your support. It has been and will always be my passion until my last breath to help both animals and differently abled humans. It fills my heart and warms by bones down to my very core. These animals and helping people is my passion. Our current expenses are 5k a month. This is not taking into consideration any vet bills that arise. This year alone we have spent close to 10k in vet bills taking in new animals in dire need. It is hard for me to ask for help, I have been procrastinating this for awhile now, but with my close friends persistence, I am now humbly asking once again for help so that these animals can have a bigger space, never have to worry about food and shelter, and so that I can continue to do what I do here to help. I can not imagine ever doing anything else. Over the years besides helping differently abled children and adults, we also have welcomed numerous Girl Scout, Cub Scout and Eagle Scout projects. We take our chickens to visit seniors month to snuggle in the laps of these forgotten elderly. The smiles that happen can light up a room. We have taken our goats, chickens and a baby calf to visit Veterans homes to snuggle in the beds, and to bring smiles. We have rabbits here that have helped Autistic children that were non verbal to speak again. Children with PTSD to replace their past bad memories with positive new ones, children of CPS have come here to forget their problems for a day and to have hope as well as to relate to animals that too have been abandoned. Our animals played their part to help blind children see through touch to learn about what different species look like. I do this not for recognition, not for money. I do it because it is the right thing to do. It feels good in my heart. If you have followed my page on facebook or website, you can see the smiles and healing these animals bring. You can also see that every single dollar has gone back to the animals. I live in a very old run down 700 square foot home, and I am ok with that. The animals have a paradise, and that is what it is all about. Them, not me. There simply are no words to see a rescued animal get that sparkle back in their eyes , trust in humans and then go on to help people. They saved me. It is my duty to them to care for them for all their years. Any amount helps. Tax deductible. Can you help me fulfill their dream of a bigger pasture?
