Rambo Needs Back Surgery

Rambo my sweet, loveable 6 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi needs back surgery.
He initially hurt himself when he was 2 years old and has been active and happy since. He is an active member of the Portland Corgi Group so this is a MAJOR setback for him. I could not imagine life without him, he is my Heart DOG.
Surgery will cost $5,300. I have already paid $500 towards vet bills this month getting him the medication he needs to make him somewhat comfortable. I have already tried everything to get credit to cover these expenses on my own with no success. Some of my family members are encouraging me to put him down. HOW CAN I he is only 6 years old and has a lot of life left to live. The vet gives him a 90% chance of a full recovery with Surgery. Please help me save this fun loving, happy, active dog.
