Sometimes life can be ruthless, and even if you love to work and face hardship with a smile, it is impossible to get up again after being whacked by life so many times with harder and more painful blows. This is my story, a horror movie:
my name is Cinzia and I was born and raised in Italy but now I live in Monroe, North Carolina with my husband Vito, our adorable son Alex and Vito's kids Francesco and Martina, who just had a baby girl named Johanna. We arrived in the United states two years ago with sacrifices, we had to leave Italy because there were no jobs and we could not support our family anymore. We hoped for a better life but it was not so. As soon as we moved, my mother, who was living in Italy, was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and I had to take a leave of absence from work, leave my husband and go to Italy with our son to take care of her and ultimately bury her.
Just a few weeks after her death, as soon as I came back to the States, my father was also diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and came to live with us. I could not go back to work because I had to take care of him. There was no hope for him and he died in our house after 8 months of agony on December 30th 2016. My only brother was also diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and is undergoing treatments and there is hope for him, but all the expenses of the past two years and the impossibility to work for both of us have put both our families into deep financial hardship.
Furthermore our parents, ill advised, have left us with a disastrous financial situation: houses with mortgages for an unpaid debt to the government of around 140.000 euros. This houses are impossible to sell because of the mortgage due to the debt. We need to pay our debts and also have money for my brother's treatments. We need this sum of money by the end of 2017!
We have only a little time left, cancer does not wait, but we want to give back to your generosity in the only way we can: for every 100$ donated we want to gift you with a one day stay in in the houses of our grandparents, the mortgaged properties that we have inherited, they are typical houses in wonderful Italian sites of the Apulian and Sicilian coasts: Ostuni and Modica. For every 100 dollars donated I will send you the link to a form that will let you choose when you want to stay. Please help save my family and my brother's family. I know I am asking a lot but let me thank you with a little bit of our gorgeous Italy.

A volte la vita può essere spietata, e anche se tu sei una persona che non ha paura di lavorare e affronti le difficoltà con il sorriso, rialzarsi dopo colpi sempre più duri e dolorosi diventa impossibile. Ecco la mia storia, un film dell’orrore:
Mi chiamo Cinzia, sono nata in Italia ma vivo a Monroe, North Carolina, con mio marito Vito, il nostro adorabile bambino Alex, ed i due figli di Vito Francesco e Martina, che ha da poco dato alla luce la piccola Johanna. Siamo arrivati negli Stati Uniti due anni fa con tanti sacrifici, abbiamo dovuto lasciare l’Italia perché non c’era lavoro e non riuscivamo a mantenere la famiglia. Speravamo in un futuro migliore, ma non è stato così. Appena trasferiti, a mia madre, rimasta in Italia, è stato diagnosticato un tumore ai polmoni in stadio avanzato, non c’era niente da fare. Ho dovuto lasciare mio marito a Monroe e tornare in Italia con il mio bambino per assisterla negli ultimi mesi di vita, senza lavoro e senza reddito. Poche settimane dopo la morte di mia madre, anche a mio padre ed al mio unico fratello è stata diagnosticata la stessa malattia: un carcinoma polmonare con metastasi. Per mio padre non c’erano speranze, e dopo una lunga agonia si è spento alla fine di dicembre 2016. Per mio fratello invece, ci sono ancora delle possibilità, ma le spese sostenute finora per le terapie e degenze di mamma e papà hanno ridotto sul lastrico sia la mia che la sua famiglia. Mal consigliati, i nostri genitori hanno lasciato una situazione finanziaria disastrosa: immobili con ipoteche per 140,000 euro e nessuna possibilità di poterli vendere per sanare i nostri debiti e pagare le terapie salvavita per mio fratello. Dobbiamo recuperare questa somma per la fine del 2017!
Abbiamo poco tempo, il cancro non aspetta, ma vogliamo ricambiare ogni gesto generoso come possiamo: per ogni 100$ donati vi vogliamo regalare un giorno gratis nelle case dei nostri nonni, le case ipotecate della nostra eredità, sono costruzioni tipiche in località meravigliose della costa pugliese e siciliana: Ostuni e Modica
