HELP BAHIA

Nella notte del 24 Dicembre 2021, la mia città natale, Itabuna, è stata affetta da inondazioni di estremo maltempo che hanno sommerso strade, case, ponti, memorie, e sacrifici di una vita.


Il maltempo è stato talmente devastante che le persone hanno dovuto nuotare per salvarsi e raggiungere un punto sicuro per sopravvivere.
 
Le inondazioni non si sono fermate soltanto alla mia cittadina. Negli ultimi quattro giorni 19 città della regione di Bahia sono state completamente coperte dall'acqua. Secondo le fonti locali, 4.5 milioni di famiglie hanno perso la casa e si trovano in condizioni completamente vulnerabili.
 

I soldi raccolti saranno donati direttamente alle famiglie e amici tramite mio cugino che è sul posto in questo momento. In particolare per fornire coperte, materassi, cibo, vestiti, e beni di prima necessità. E lui insieme alla sua ragazza, stanno distribuendo acqua, latte per i bambini e  preparano il minestrone per strada
 
Ogni aiuto è immensamente apprezzato, insieme possiamo fare la differenza.

Il mio nome è Ludmila, abito in Italia da 16 anni ma sono nata e cresciuta a Itabuna. Mi sento coinvolta in prima persona, tanti familiari e amici abitano a Itabun. Stiamo cercando di aiutare in quello che possiamo. Ogni giorno ricevo messaggi di padri e madri che hanno bisogno di pannolini per i loro piccoli.

On the night of the 24th of December 2021, my hometown Itabuna has been affected by extreme floods that have submerged streets, houses, bridges, memories, and sacrifices of a lifetime.

The weather conditions have been so devastating that people had to swim out of their homes to survive and reach safety.

The floods didn't only involve my hometown. Only in the past four days, 19 cities of the region of Bahia have been completely covered in water. According to the local authorities, 4.5 million people have lost their homes and are now finding themselves in extremely vulnerable conditions.

For this reason, as a Brazilian citizen, and as a person, I humbly ask you to put your hand on your heart and help these mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, to lift themselves from the tragedy that affected them in a moment of celebration where all of their savings were invested in coming together with their loved ones; and instead are facing this sad reality. In just 10 minutes the water took over.

All of the proceeds will be donated directly to the families and friends through my cousin which is nearby in this moment and will be able to provide them with food, mattresses, blankets, clothes and necessities to soothe their situation.

Every little helps, together we can make a big difference.
