Air Force, Thomas Fire Victims

My name is John Meyers, and I am a member of the 146th Maintenance Squadron at the Channel Islands Air National Guard Station in Port Hueneme, California.

I’m starting this effort to raise funds for my friends and family in the California Air National Guard, Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, 146th Airlift Wing.

A number of my fellow airmen have lost their homes to the tragedy of the Thomas Fire. Specifically, Skip Barnes of the 146th Maintenance Squadron and Timothy Dawson of the 146th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron have been directly affected by this fire, losing their properties. There may be more members impacted.

This hits especially close to home as our unit is one of few aerial fire fighting units in the nation. As a unit, the 146th has supported fire fighting efforts across the nation yearly, dedicating their lives to protecting our fellow citizens’ homes. The Thomas Fire has laid waste to some of the very homes of the heroes that have answered their nation’s call to defend us from all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that enemy has frequently come in the form of devastating
wildfires.

Please help me give back to those that have given so much to everyone else!

I am working with the 146th Airlift Wing's Family Readiness Office, and all funds will be distributed directly to those impacted to assist them in recouping their losses due to this fire.
