Ainsley Chan Medical Fund

Donation protected
Our dear brother and friend Ainsley Chan was recently diagnosed and admitted to hospital for a rare but serious disease called Myelofibrosis.

Myelofibrosis is a serious bone marrow disorder that disrupts your body's normal production of blood cells, red, white and platelets. The result is vulnerability to the slightest infection, and extensive scarring in your bone marrow, leading to severe anemia, weakness, fatigue and often an overworked and enlarged spleen and liver. Myelofibrosis belongs to a group of diseases called myeloproliferative disorders.

Ainsley will remain in hospital under critical observation 24/7, nurse care and crucial access to IV medications and blood transfusions until he can fly out to The South Florida Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant Institute run by a Doctor originally from Princess Town called Dr. Dipnarine Maharaj. Once they have secured a sufficient number of stem cells he will then be able to start treatment and have some relief from the symptoms and ailments that are pervasive at the moment.

Treatment will cost of in excess of US$100k to start, is not available locally and without this treatment his life/life expectancy is at risk.

We are therefore seeking your assistance by donating.
