Sheldon Robertson is an energic precious 5 year old with big blue eyes, adorable huge freckles and a huge heart.
On December 1, 2013 Sheldon was diagnosed was a Tarlov Cyst on the left S2 Sacrum on the spine. Sheldon had a 3 hour
surgery on December 6, 2013 which resulted in the sacrum bone being removed and the cysts being drained.
Since the surgery Sheldons Tarlov
Cyst, pain and symptoms have increased.
June 19,2014
Today, we where blessed to meet Dr. Feigenbaum who has done
over 800 successful surgeries on patients all around the world.
Sheldon is Dr. Feigenbaums 1st pediatric patient but, defentaly not his 1st Tarlov Cysts patient.
Today, at our June 19, 2014 appointment we where told by Dr. Feigenbaum that he found 2 additional cyst on the right side which are smaller then the cyst on
the left side of his spine. Unfortunately, the MRI reader nor the Neurosurgeon at Tx Childrens back in December and all of his appointments from December
2013 to March 2014 made me aware that the had any on the right side.
Dr. Feigenbaum said Sheldon will need surgery as soon as possible.
Sheldon has health insurance however, Dr. Feigenbaums facilities don't except Sheldons insurance.
I'm quickly switching Sheldons
health insurance to a company who will be excepted at any location that Dr. Feigenbaum has rights to.
All insurance companies have out
of pocket amounts and deductibles that have to be met before insurance will pay anything.
If Sheldons surgery could take
place four months down the road coming up with all the funds would be do-able.
However, Dr. Feigenbaum said that surgery needs to take place
this month. At the most in the beginning of July 2014 no later.
