AIGA BSU Travel to Black in Design

Donation protected
The AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) student group at Bowie State wants to attend the Black in Design Conference (held at Harvard University in Boston). Organized by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design African American Student Union (GSD AASU), the conference recognizes the contributions of the African diaspora to the design fields. Using design to address and do away with issues that are in the African American community. Theres one thing we need help with, travel expenses.

Our goal at the conference is to obtain greater knowledge about how to give direction and motivation to student artists to make sure they take the proper first steps into the industry after college.

AIGA specifically helps fine and performing artist students with their brand, networking, portfolio building and review and provide hands on experiences and opportunities. We feel it is imperative to share the same space and ideas with other African Americans in the industry at this conference.

We also hope the connections made at the conference could potentially bring about internship and other opportunities for Bowie State University students.

There will be four members from the AIGA Bowie State Group going to the conference. The majors of these members are Graphic Design, Animation, and Film.

All donations will be greatly appreciated, even if it’s just words of encouragement. We thank you in advance for your support. Please pass this along--the more support the better.
