Aiding Communities in Africa

Donation protected
December this year, I will be joining a team of young Australian’s on an 18 day extraordinary journey to Tanzania. I am so grateful to my parents for their support which will allow me to pursue this amazing dream. Part of our objective for this trip is to give hope and happiness to our hosts in a small but meaningful way.

Through my studies I have learnt that Tanzanian’s are contagious with their happiness but endure a tremendous amount of struggle in order to obtain the basic necessities in life. I am looking forward to this unfamiliar experience, contributing first hand and enjoying a great life journey. I am hopeful that with your support I can make a positive contribution to help change lives for the better.

I would like to share my journey with my contributors and my family. I aim to initiate conversation around people who are severely less privileged, hoping that through this opportunity, we can begin a lasting commitment to strive for a beneficial change in our world to end absolute poverty.

I am privileged to spend my time with the beautiful Tanzanian communities where myself and other Aussie’s will teach at 4 primary schools located at the foot of Kilimanjaro. We will run an athletics carnival and assist in the construction of a community hall. Along with the confronting challenge of the social-economic environment, I will also be challenged by the natural environment as our group will endure a 6 day hike to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free standing mountain.

During class I have learnt that Tanzania’s GDP per capita per person is $3,200 in comparison to our own GDP of $50,300 which emphasizes the disparity and hardship that they face. Our tour group, Global Immersion, is a self funded organisation which is run by volunteers and relies upon donations to support their projects throughout Kibera and Tanzania.

In order to help change this statistic and assist in changing the lives of Tanzanian’s, I aim to raise $1500. The money raised, with your generous help, will go towards two community building projects we are participating in. A community hall and a music building will provide lasting benefits to the communities.

I would be extremely thankful and appreciative if you are able to assist in changing lives by donating. Every donation whichever size, will make an immense contribution to our projects, and will make an enormous difference to the lives of people in Kibera and Tanzania.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you can see my vision, support me and please donate! xoxo
