Tous unis autour de Cyran

Le jour de l’enterrement de ma mère, sa grand-mère, mon fils Cyran, 33 ans, recevait son diagnostic de cancer du cerveau. Cyran est entraîneur et cavalier de compétition aux États-Unis. Marié à sa formidable et jeune épouse Grayson depuis 2 ans, tous deux ont le projet de démarrer une famille dès qu’ils auront surmonté l’épreuve de la maladie.
Comme souvent dans la vie, les épreuves arrivent toutes en même temps. Je n’ai pas pu assister aux funérailles de ma mère en raison de la pandémie (elle vivait en France). Je ne peux pas imaginer ne pas pouvoir me rendre au chevet de mon fils qui, marié à une américaine, vit aux États-Unis. Je veux être là pour lui et pour sa jeune épouse Grayson, dévastée par la nouvelle de la maladie.
Nous ne savons pas encore s’il va pouvoir être opéré avant de suivre une chimio et une radiothérapie, mais je veux être là, le conduire à l’hôpital pour son traitement. Grayson et Cyran ont besoin de moi. Mais voilà: je vis à Québec, au Canada, et eux aux États-Unis. Je dois donc quitter mon travail, déjà très affecté par la pandémie. Je suis artiste peintre et je vis des cours et des ateliers artistiques que je donne. Mais depuis plus de 6 mois, les ateliers artistiques sont interdits à Québec et je n’ai presque plus de revenus. Si j’arrête tout pour partir aider Cyran, c’est une perte totale.
Mon conjoint ne peut pas m’aider, car il doit bientôt subir une chirurgie (mineure, heureusement) qui nécessitera une convalescence de 6 mois. Il doit aussi s’occuper de notre autre fils, encore adolescent.
Je dois me rendre dans le Connecticut par la route. Une fois sur place je devrai conduire régulièrement Cyran pour son traitement, à Yale New Haven Hospital. Je prévois dans un premier temps de rester là-bas tout le mois de juin. Si Dieu le veut, je rentrerai l’esprit tranquille, en sachant Cyran tiré d’affaire.
J’ai besoin d’aide d’ici le 1er juin pour compenser ma perte de revenus, payer l’essence, subvenir à mes besoins aux États-Unis et payer les tests PCR qui me seront demandés à mon retour.

On the day of my mother's funeral, her grandmother, my son Cyran, 33, was diagnosed with brain cancer. Cyran is an equestrian coach and rider. Married to his wonderful and young wife Grayson for 2 years, the two have plans to start a family as soon as they have overcome the ordeal of the disease.
As often in life, trials all come at the same time. I was unable to attend my mother's funeral due to the pandemic (she lived in France). I can't imagine not being able to make it to the bedside of my son who, married to an American woman, lives in the United States. I want to be there for him and for his young wife Grayson, devastated by the news of the disease.
We don't know yet if he's going to be able to have a surgery before he gets chemo and radiation, but I want to be there, drive him to the hospital for treatment. Grayson and Cyran need me. But here it is: I live in Canada, and they live in the United States. I must therefore quit my job, which is already very affected by the pandemic. I am a painter and I live from the artistic classes and workshops that I give. But for more than 6 months, artistic workshops have been banned in Quebec and I have hardly any income. If I stop everything to go and help Cyran, it's a total loss.
My partner cannot help me because he has to undergo surgery soon (a minor one, luckily) which will require a 6 month recovery period. He also has to take care of our other son, who is still a teenager.
I have to get to Connecticut by road. Once there, I will have to drive Cyran regularly for his treatment, to Yale New Haven Hospital. I plan to stay there the whole month of June at first. God willing, I'll go home with peace of mind, knowing Cyran is off the hook.
I need help by June 1st to make up for my lost income, pay for gasoline, support myself in the United States, and pay for the PCR tests that will be required upon my return.
