<div>Le 9 décembre 2022, j'ai été confronté à une nouvelle qui a ébranlé chaque fibre de mon être. Le médecin, avec des mots lourds de vérité, m'a annoncé que j'avais seulement 2 à 4 mois à vivre. <strong>Je suis atteint d’un cancer de la prostate de stade 4 métastatique </strong>(le stade 5 est au ciel).

<div>À l'instant où ces mots ont pénétré mon être, j'ai senti un mélange dévastateur de choc et de terreur. La réalité a frappé comme une vague déferlante, me laissant ancré dans l'incertitude de l'avenir. Un sentiment d'injustice a momentanément étreint mon cœur, une révolte face à l'impossibilité de combattre cette maladie. <strong>Je ne m'attendais pas du tout à une nouvelle aussi mauvaise à 46 ans.</strong>

<div>J’étais avec ma conjointe dans le bureau du médecin. Le monde autour de nous semblait s'effondrer. Ses yeux, d'abord empreints d'inquiétude, ont rapidement laissé place à une profonde tristesse. Chaque mot du médecin était comme un coup à l'estomac et la réalité de ma condition s'est manifestée dans le tremblement de ses mains. J'ai vu dans son regard, l'angoisse face à l'inconnu, la douleur anticipée de la perte et le désir ardent de trouver une issue miraculeuse à ce cauchemar.

<div>Lorsque j'ai partagé cette nouvelle avec mes enfants, Abraham, Floriane et Gloria, l'expression de leurs visages a été comme un tableau douloureux. Dans leurs yeux, j'ai vu la peur, ce mélange déchirant de confusion et d'incompréhension. C’est comme si leur monde s'était fissuré et la promesse de jours insouciants s'était évanouie. Chaque mot que j'ai prononcé a été suivi d'un silence pesant, brisé par des sanglots étouffés, par des cris de douleur. Leur douleur a créé une atmosphère indescriptible dans la pièce, une réalité difficile à accepter. Ils ont dû envisager un avenir sans moi, une pensée qui a laissé des traces invisibles sur leurs cœurs innocents.

<div>Les premières semaines ont été particulièrement difficiles. Nous étions juste avant la période des fêtes. Les conversations légères ont laissé place à des moments plus profonds, empreints d'une urgence à créer des souvenirs durables.

<div>Après quelques semaines, j'ai ressenti une présence invisible, une énergie qui m'a enveloppé d'une manière réconfortante. C'est comme si l'univers lui-même me murmurait des paroles de courage et d'acceptation. Dans l'obscurité de cette épreuve, j'ai trouvé une lumière inattendue, une source de force qui va au-delà de toute explication rationnelle.

<div>Cette force inconnue a pris la forme d'une compréhension profonde de la beauté fragile de la vie. Elle m'a inspiré à regarder au-delà de la douleur, à célébrer chaque moment et à trouver du beau même dans les moments difficiles. Elle m'a offert un regard nouveau sur la vie, transformant cette période difficile en une opportunité de croissance personnelle et de connexion profonde avec mes proches.

<div>J’ai pris ma santé en main. J’ai étudié la maladie afin de comprendre la raison pour laquelle elle s’était développée en moi. J’ai rencontré les spécialistes, j’ai lu des milliers de pages d’études scientifiques, j’ai écouté des centaines de vidéos de solutions contre le cancer, j’ai écouté ce que les gens qui m’entourent avaient à dire. Je me suis mis en action pas à peu près!

<div>Trois mois plus tard, le cancer ne semblait plus être là. Ma santé s’était grandement améliorée. Mes prélèvements sanguins étaient tous devenus positifs. Je ne prenais plus aucun médicament. Mon histoire est devenue une histoire de courage, une histoire inspirante pour les gens de mon entourage.

<div>Quatre mois se sont écoulés...quatre petits mois... Le cancer fait de nouveau surface. Il revient de façon très agressive et ce, malgré une hygiène de vie irréprochable.

<div>Il y a quelques jours, quelqu’un de mon entourage m’a envoyé une possibilité de traitement à l’extérieur du pays. Il s’agit d’un <strong>traitement d’immunothérapie qui n’existe pas au Québec pour le cancer de la prostate</strong>. Les chances de réussite sont autour de 60% pour un cancer avancé comme le mien. Un nouvel espoir!

<div><strong>Aujourd’hui, ma famille et moi, lançons une levée de fonds afin de récolter l’argent nécessaire pour mes traitements. </strong>La maladie a posé plusieurs défis au niveau émotionnel, familial professionnel et maintenant s’ajoute de grands défis financiers. Les fonds récoltés seront utilisés pour couvrir uniquement les coûts médicaux liés aux traitements.

<div>The very moment I heard these words, a devastating mix of shock and terror penetrated my being. Reality washed over me like a wave, and left me wondering about the future. I instantly felt a deep sense of injustice. My heart ached with revolt at the impossibility of fighting this disease. <strong>I wasn’t expecting such bad news at the age of 46.</strong>

<div>I was with my wife in the doctor’s office and the world around us was as if it had collapsed. Her eyes, initially filled with concern, quickly gave way to profound sadness. The doctor’s every word was like a punch to the stomach, and his shaking hands reflected the reality of my condition. I saw in her eyes the dread of the unknown, the anticipated pain of loss and the ardent desire to find a miraculous way out of this nightmare.

<div>When I shared the news with my children, Abraham, Floriane and Gloria, the expression on their faces was one of aching pain. <div>After a few weeks, I felt an invisible presence, a comforting energy surrounding me. It was as if the universe itself whispered words of courage and acceptance to me. Through the darkness, I found an unexpected light, a source of strength that goes beyond any rational explanation.

<div>This unknown strength took the form of a deep understanding of the fragility and beauty of life. It inspired me to look past the pain, embrace each moment and see the good even in difficult times. It offered me a fresh perspective on life, transforming this difficult period into an opportunity for personal growth and deep connection with my loved ones. I took my health into my own hands. I studied the disease to understand the cause of its development. I met the specialists, I read thousands of pages of scientific studies, I listened to hundreds of cancer solution videos, I listened to what the people around me had to say. I got down to business!

<div>Three months later, the cancer appeared to be gone. My health had greatly improved. My blood tests all came back clear. I was no longer taking any medication. My story became one of courage, an inspiring one for the people around me.

<div>Four months have passed… four short months… The cancer is back. It’s coming back with a vengeance, despite a perfectly healthy lifestyle.

<div>A few days ago, someone close to me sent me information about a possible treatment outside the country.<strong> It’s an immunotherapy treatment for prostate cancer that isn’t offered in Quebec. </strong>The chances of success are around 60% for advanced cancer like mine. A new hope!
