<div>On the morning of February 14th, Aidan collapsed at home while getting ready for his school day. He was rushed to the hospital via ambulance and within hours the family got the devastating news that Aiden has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Aiden started chemo the following day.

<div><em>From the Dohr family: "We woke up excited for the day, and my daughters were gathering all of their Valentines together for their school, while my son was making himself lunch. I was about to leave for work when one of my daughters said, "Aiden tripped and fell." I rushed over to him to see what happened and that's when my worst nightmare began. My son was unresponsive. We called 911. By the time they showed up, Aiden was responsive. They checked his vitals and they were all normal. What just happened? We decided to still take him to the ER because something did not sit right with us. A healthy teenage boy doesn't just drop and become unresponsive. We brought him in, and the tests were all done. Everything was looking good until the blood test came back. He was low in Hemoglobin. I knew this wasn't good, but I never knew that with more testing they would then confirm that my son has Leukemia. We had no signs, he had no symptoms, and we have no family history, he just got unlucky. We were shocked and scared and had no idea what to do. We woke up fine and within 5 hours, our lives changed forever."</em>

<div><em>Aiden is a 14-year-old who is active in his school and community and attends De Pere High School as a freshman. He was looking forward to his high school career before his diagnosis. He loves school and loves learning, with a goal to maintain a high GPA and attend college to work in the field of engineering. Even with his diagnosis, his first worry was his grades and how he would still be able to meet his goal. Aiden enjoys training in Tae Kwon Do and was hoping to level up to a brown belt this spring. He enjoys playing soccer and is passionate about playing the violin. He had hopes of making JV next school year. When Aiden sets his mind to something, he will get there and will work hard to achieve his goals. Aiden is a great role model for his younger siblings. When his parents could not hold it together, he said, "Stop worrying. I have good doctors, good treatments, and good success rates. I'm going to beat this!" His mindset has been so inspiring! He is right, we are going to go on this long and rough journey, together, strong as we can be, and kick cancer's butt!</em>

<div>Aiden will have an intensive regimen of chemo for the next 9.5 months followed by another year and a half of maintenance medication. The medical costs will undoubtedly be astronomical and we hope to relieve the family of that burden. Both parents will also be taking time off of work, which means no income. These are burdens that no parent should have to bear. We, the special education team at Lombardi Middle School, ask that you help the Dohrs by any means possible whether that be financially or spiritually.
