Aiden's Bone Marrow Transplant

My son is nothing short of remarkable. He was born with sickle cell disease and has struggled with it ever since. Aiden's everyday "normal" is a struggle each and every day. Could you imagine being a young boy and not being able to enjoy the activities and things that others his age do every day?...not being able to swim in the ocean or a pool on a hot summer day or being able to go snow sledding or skiing or just playing in the snow on a wintery Colorado day.
   Aiden's everyday has consisted of caution. There is always the fear of him going to school or anywhere and coming home with an illness, a fever, or falling and hitting his head causing a possible stroke or blood clot to his vital organs causing oxygen deficiencies.
   Through all of the pain, all of his struggle, all of the disappointment, Aiden is a fighter. He perseveres through whatever is put in front of him and never complains.
   In January, Aiden suffered a stroke causing damage to the left side of his brain and right arm and hand functionality. He has been receiving therapy since then to correct these issues but he still has a way to go. He suffered academically as well as physically still to this day due to the stroke and now has a 95% possibility of stroke again as well as seizures for the rest of his life. In order to help prevent that right now he is receiving monthly blood transfusions and requires different types of medications. However, there is a cure. There is a way to no longer have the struggles every day due to sickle cell disease or for us, as his parents, to fear the next day and what may come.
   Aiden has been presented with the opportunity to have a Bone Marrow Transplant with a donor ready and set to go. This opportunity will not only save his life but allow him to truly enjoy life and all that it has to offer. He will be completely cured of sickle cell disease! Unfortunately, this procedure is extremely expensive and we are asking for your help to make this possible.
