Aidan Ramig Trust Fund, in Memory of Michael Ramig

Donation protected
Any donations to this Go Fund Me will go directly into a trust fund that has been established for Aidan John Ramig, 3-month-old son of Michael John Ramig. Michael, 39, of Old Tappan, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 1, 2020.  These funds will be solely used for Aidan's education and future.

Michael adored his son, Aidan, and enjoyed snuggling on the couch with him and having staring contests during Aidan’s bath time.   Michael had a genuine love for music - having multiple genres and playlists that he enjoyed listening to.  A die-hard Yankee fan and loyal to the Indianapolis Colts, Michael also participated in sports throughout his life, from Little League baseball through men’s softball leagues.  He looked forward to his trips to Atlantic City with his father.  Michael did whatever he could to help - often without having to ask.  He was the person to give you the Brooks Brothers shirt off his back and if you asked for a dollar, he gave you a hundred.

Beloved son of John and Barbara Ramig. Cherished brother of Laura Ciabattoni and Katie Ramig, and her husband Mike Rhorer. Generous and loving uncle to Leah and Jillian Ciabattoni.

Proud father of his three-month-old son, Aidan John Ramig. Devoted partner of Abigail Ocampo. Michael was also survived by his grandmother, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Michael graduated from Northern Valley Old Tappan High School.  He was a US Marine Corps veteran. He was employed as a payroll manager for Amalgamated Life Insurance Company in White Plains.

With a heart of gold, Michael was the person who made sure everyone was taken care of and in all he did, he did with integrity and an aim for perfection.  Michael did it right or didn’t do it at all.  Michael was the person who pushed you to be better, the friend you could always count on, the protective brother, the hero father, and the son who made his parents proud.  He believed in family first. His kind soul touched the hearts and lives of those who knew him.

When my daughter, Jillian was born, I knew, without question, that I would ask Michael to be her Godfather.  My brother was humbled and honored, and took this role very seriously.  On the day of Jillian’s Christening, Michael gave her a card with a beautifully written note.  In this note, Micheal explained that he would set up a bank account for Jillian, and put a small amount of his biweekly paycheck into the account.  He was very clear that Jillian was to use the money when she was older, once she graduated high school.  He told his goddaughter that after he graduated high school, he had the opportunity to backpack through Europe with his best friend, Tommy.  Michael wanted Jillian to have the opportunity to do something like that- to use the money for school, or, if she wanted, to use the money for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.  He set up an account for the same purpose for his other godchild, Tommy’s son, Liam.  For the past nine years, the accounts have grown, and I look forward to the day when I can hand the account over to my daughter, as yet another reminder of just how much her Uncle Michael did for her.

I want to be able to do the same for Michael’s son now.  I want to make sure Aidan has the opportunity to go to college if he chooses, or to start his own business.  This is why I am creating a trust fund for my nephew, Aidan John.
