Hi my name is Ashley and my dog Zaarah is a Pomsky and is 6.5 years old . She has always been healthy, but recently became sick in November 2024. We did multiple test, but everything seemed normal, except for her red blood cell count. We tried a bunch of different antibiotics and put her on prednisone. The predisone was reducing her symptoms, which were coughing, lethargy, low appetite. In February she started having itchy sores in her ears and on her nose and paws that seem to keep exploding. She has lost most of her hair on the bridge of her nose… I took her back to the vet and it appears to be vasculitis ( inflammation of the blood vessels). We always thought that she probably has some type of autoimmune disease, but it seemed to be being maintained…. When I took her to the vet yesterday February 27th, we now found out on top of the vasculitis that her anemia has gotten worse and her platelets and white blood cells are extremely high and her kidneys are starting to fail. I believe she may have lupus, leukemia, or possibly bone marrow disease. She is going to go to a specialist at Purdue University, but I have already spent 4K in test and treatment so far and the specialist is going to add up super fast. I have never asked for anything, but my dogs are my children and I’ll do anything I absolutely can for them and any bit helps and all of the money will be going directly towards the test and treatment she will be getting at Purdue.
