Aid Trudy Gilmond's Recovery at Home

Donation protected

This is a donation request for our friend and loved one, Trudy Gilmond.

Trudy has been recently let out of the hospital after 3 long weeks of care.

On December 4th she went in for a surgery called DEEP PERONEAL NEURECTOMY. (DPN). The procedure cuts the nerves attached to the joints that are causing severe arthritis pain. She had the procedure on both feet.

On December 20th she got her stitches out and returned to work the next night for a 12 hour shift of physical labor.
When she took her work boot and socks off at the end of her shift, her protective strips came off which started a severe infection on her right foot.

On Dec 24 she woke up in the middle of the night feeling deathly sick with high fever. She called the ER at 9:00 pm on Dec 25th because her foot was so swollen.

Dec 26th she saw her orthopedic doctor who scheduled her for surgery later that night. When she arrived a few hours later her fever was over 102 and they performed the procedure.

On Dec 30th she had to go back and have surgery to have her wound cleaned out again and was told that she had MRSA infection and needed to be in a highly sterile environment. Meaning everyone must gown up upon arrival.

On January 6th, they finally hooked a
wound vac up to her foot to remove all the infection.

She left the hospital on January 9th with a wound vac connected to her right foot for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. She
can’t put any weight on my her right foot until then. She also has visiting nurses coming to her house 3 times a week.

Trudy has not been able to work since the beginning of this process and will probably be out of work until the mid to end of February. She is highly stressed about paying her bills through this time. Any types of donations would help her so much.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. She really appreciates this and hopes to be back on her feet again…literally, after almost losing one. These funds will help keep her household bills paid while she’s recovering.
