Aid to Aguada's Family & Friends

As many of you know, the recent hurricanes have left a detrimental impact on the island of Puerto Rico. As we continue to learn new information and anxiously await phone calls from loved ones, one thing is for certain- the island is without electricity or water and resources are extremely low. Before Hurricane Maria hit, Hurricane Irma left many people in the dark. With the asisstance of donations, I was able to send a box of batteries to help during that time. Now hurricane Maria will elongate this process even further. Many people, like some of my own family members, lost everything. We're requesting assitance to help out our cousins, parents, and extended family and friends with much needed supplies.

Due to the slow progress of help on the island, I'll be traveling there and returning back with my parents and their dog.  The sad part is that airlines are cruel and price gouging flights. The trip there is putting a large personal dent. My family is from Aguada, located in the Western coastal region. My plan when I arrive is to help family and friends in that area by hand delivering food and basic essentials. 

Many people have asked to help so I decided to start this page to simply give those that really want to help a platform to do so.

My plan is to prioritize the needs in my family's hometown, especially family members that lost their home. I'd like to help them purchase cement, wood panels and anything to help. I'll also be working to ship needed supplies and get them there as soon as possible. These items include the following: flashlights, batteries of all sizes, solar powered lanterns, small battery operated fans, toiletries, and canned goods. These will take priority since they'll help more people at a quicker rate. The items will be shipped priority mail as soon as I can confirm that packages are being delivered. I am checking the post office daily for updates. At this time packages are being shipped but delivery times are undetermined.

I can assure that every penny of your donation is going towards helping someone in need in an area that simply will struggle to receive timely aid. And perhaps even help a family to start rebuilding their lives and their home.  Our initial goal of $2,000 was met and even surpassed. The goal was increased as an attempt to reach more people and extend a helping hand to many others.
