<div>On December 21st, The Moreno Family was involved in a tragic event at the Killeen Mall. Lesmes Sr, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and her 6 year old daughter Shameris were shopping for Christmas when a drunk driver involved in a police chase, drove into the front of JCPenney, striking the Moreno family at checkout. The driver was then involved in a shootout with law enforcement where he was eventually killed. Lesmes Sr was treated at the hospital and released, however, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and Shameris remain in the hospital awaiting surgeries and rehabilitation. Jacqueline suffered a hip fracture and broken ankle. Shameris suffered a broken rib, ankle as well as internal bruising that’s affecting her oxygen levels. Lesyalie suffered multiple fractures on her face as well as pelvic separation. Lesyalie remains in ICU awaiting multiple surgeries and a long road of rehabilitation.
