My name is Austin Boxwell myself along with other Patrol Deputies with their Kerr County Sheriff’s Office have created this account to assist our co-worker and Patrol Sergeant, Trudy Allen.
We are creating this after the immense support and outreach we have received from our Kerr County community upon hearing this story.
On the morning of July 4th, 2025, at about 4:30 AM, Sergeant Allen, with the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, left her residence to head into town to start her day shift on patrol. She drove her patrol unit out of her neighborhood and was met with floodwaters, leaving her trapped.
Sgt. Allen returned to her residence and began preparing for the floodwaters that were rising.
Sgt. Allen remained in her residence as the water rose to the point she was treading water in her home with only 2 feet of air left while she held onto her dogs.
Sgt. Allen’s personal vehicle and patrol unit were swept away from her residence.
Sgt. Allen eventually was able to exit her residence and ride out the floodwaters on the roof of her house until she was able to be rescued.
Sgt. Allen has been more worried about her shift and others the entire time and wants to be out in the field with her boys on her shift.
Sgt. Allen is a 20+ year veteran police officer who is a valued member of our agency and a terrific person at, and away from, work.
Any money raised will be used to assist in replacing personal items after a total loss due to water/flood damage of household items, vehicles and daily life essentials.
