Aid Pumpkin in Rebuilding Her Life and Bird Haven

Hurricane Helene changed a number of lives drastically. Taking away everything so many had in a blink of an eye.

This fund is for my friend Pumpkin who is one of those people. A friend and neighbor, and all funds will go directly to her. Being a strong mountain woman she has yet to reach out herself to ask for this kind of support. Instead, how many days later, still looking for her home, or even just pieces of it, that were swept away.

This is a woman, who has worked hard all of her life. She is a retired paralegal. And had been spending her time rescuing and caring for her birds. Which included ducks, chickens, a macaw, emu, and a peacock!

Her big heart through all of this is amazing. Even as she has lost everything she has been holding space for others. Something that has really humbled me. Constantly searching for what is left of her flocks, and the macaw they couldn’t get out of the house in time. More worried about her birds than the material possessions she lost.
