<div>I’ve been trying to return to work since the 16th, but it’s been an uphill battle. My doctor cleared me to come back with a 5-pound weight limit, but Group Health is insisting it needs to be 10 pounds. Now everything’s on hold again while we wait to see if my doctor can approve that change.

<div>I’ve been going to occupational therapy 2–3 times a week, and while I’m making progress, my therapist says it could take up to a year to get back to “my normal.” I’m still struggling with rotating my palm upward (called supination), but I’m exercising every day and doing everything I can to recover and get back to work.

<div>It’s frustrating because I want to be working — I’m ready — but things out of my control keep delaying the process. Any donation, even just a dollar, helps more than I can say. I hate having to ask for help again, especially this far into things, but I’m desperate and truly grateful for anyone who’s willing to support or share my story.

<div>Update 10/14/2025:

<div>This Thursday I should finally be getting my cast and pin taken out, which I’m really looking forward to after everything these last couple of months. It feels like a small step forward, but my doctor said it could still be another 5–8 weeks before I can return to work. Even then, it would be with light duty and restrictions, which my job might not even be able to accommodate. So I’m still out of work for now, and with the holidays coming up, it’s been really stressful trying to keep everything together.

<div>My biggest hope is that by the new year I’ll be able to get back on my feet and move out of my parents’ house so we’re not a burden on them anymore. They’ve done so much to help us, and I’m beyond grateful, but I just want to be able to stand on my own again and not have to depend on anyone.

<div>This whole experience has been overwhelming at times, but I’m trying to stay positive and take it one day at a time. Anything helps right now — whether it’s a donation, sharing my story, or even just sending kind words. Every bit of support means the world to me, and there really aren’t enough words to describe how thankful I am for everyone who’s helped me through this.

<div>I’m still recovering from my wrist surgery and currently have a rod in place. I’m in a cast for another 3 weeks, and once that’s removed the rod will be taken out. After that I’ll be placed in a brace and begin physical therapy. My doctors estimate I’ll be out of work for at least another 8 weeks.

<div>With the holidays approaching and after having to say goodbye to my sweet Cooper, it feels as though I’m drowning. This has truly been one of the hardest times of my life.

<div>I had my wrist surgery today. I’m sore and tired, and the doctors said it was a bit worse than expected. They had to stabilize it with rods along with the plates and screws. In about 3 weeks, I’ll go for a follow-up where they may remove the rods and change my cast—then I’ll be in it for another 3 weeks.

<div>This means I’ll unfortunately be out of work even longer. I really don’t like asking for help, but I’m learning that sometimes it’s okay when life takes unexpected turns.

<div>*I found out I do have to have surgery on my wrist. I’m still in a lot of pain, but doing my best to manage day by day. My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3rd, and then I have a follow-up on the 25th to see if I can finally get back to work... Until that time, I unfortunately cannot go back, which has been very stressful.

<div>This year has been one of the hardest of my life. I have been out of work for the majority of 2025 due to serious health issues and surgeries. Earlier this year I underwent a laparoscopic surgery, and not long after, I had to have an open abdominal full hysterectomy. The recovery process was long and difficult, and it left me unable to work for months. I was finally able to return to work a couple of weeks ago, but because it’s the slow season, my hours have been cut, making it nearly impossible to catch up on the bills that have been piling up. Just as I was trying to get back on my feet, I suffered another setback—I slipped and fell, breaking my wrist, and I may now need another surgery.

<div>My husband and I already live very modestly. We don’t go out or spend money on extras; everything we have goes toward keeping up with our household bills. We’ve always managed on our own and have never asked for help before, but right now, I am overwhelmed and desperate. Between medical bills, reduced income, and now the possibility of another surgery, I feel like I’m drowning. That’s why I am starting this GoFundMe—any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and help us get through this difficult time.
