Closed mouth won’t get fed.

If you are able and willing I am asking for as much help as possible.

I am a local nola black burlesque performer who is currently out of work due to hip surgery. As a full time performer I will be out of income for some time as I have a 4-6 month recovery. I still have to maintain life as a person and most of all as a mother.

I was sent home w/ 5 pain medications in which 1.) the pharmacy can not fill bc they are out of what’s needed. 2.) my insurance does not cover and it cost $200 3.) a medication that helps lightly but I can only take 1 a day bc I don’t have many of them 4.) 2 otc medications 1- I can only take 1 a day & the other is causing me to have headaches from taking so much to relieve even the slightest amount of pain. I need all 5 taking the medication while missing one defeats the purpose because they all work together and not separately.

I am very uncomfortable and stuck in my house. Not only was someone supposed to come out Thursday before I had surgery to fit me for my brace but nobody came and nobody made contact I had spent the whole day calling nurses and doctors trying to see what was going on.

I was told it will be okay the hospital would have the equipment I needed. Well they didn’t ! My surgery was almost canceled bc I didn’t have the brace; they had to call the company and make someone bring it to the hospital or they would not have been able to operate.

In the mist of it all I have stairs outside of my home which needs a ramp bc I can’t get up or down!

I have not 1 but 2 toilets in my home that I can not use bc they are too low to the ground! I have been having to potty in a cup ever sense I made it home!

Granted if the person would have come out on Thursday I could have asked and would have been able to properly handle the situation but they didn’t.

I asked about everything before surgery but they were so focused on trying to get the brace that everything was over looked!

Now I have gone the whole weekend in some of the worst pains ever w/ basically no medication!

In order for me to get the DME that’s needed for my home my doctors have to contact the hospitals case management department which of course nobody is there on the weekends.

I was asked if there was somewhere I could go stay until I was able to get what’s needed but once again I can’t get up or down my stairs….

Also I was told because I was already discharged it would be even harder to get the equipment. Which means I may actually have to come out of pocket and buy these items on my own.

If anybody is able if anybody is willing I’m asking please help in any way possible!!! Thank you
