Aid my friends hit by Hurr. Maria

I am Gene Jordan, living in Dorado, Puerto Rico for almost a decade. It seems that many in my circle of friends would like to aid Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, but don't know what way is effective. I already know of several people in our church and friends here in Puerto Rico that suffered major damages to their homes and properties - roofs ripped off, and heavy flooding, loss of homes and vehicles, and I am sure I will find out about more among friends and family when communication is improved. I am just hoping to connect my two circles: those with the resources that want to help, and those who need them here in PR. I plan to use these donations to help these families that we identify to rise up and start over, whether by purchasing household items, materials for building, or pay a month of rent, etc. And by sending the money instead of buying outside of PR and sending, the purchases made will help the local economy as it tries to recover. If you donate, I will let you know in what way your donation helps.
