<div>I started this fundraiser on behalf of my brother-in-law Mike, who is currently facing a difficult and unexpected battle with stage 2 colon cancer.

<div>Life changed in an instant when he went to the ER after several days of pain and vomiting. He ended up being hospitalized for two weeks when cancer was discovered and he had to have major surgery.

<div>After undergoing major surgery, Mike now faces months of chemotherapy and recovery. Because he has not been at his job for a full year, he’s not eligible for FMLA.
</div>

<div>The financial burden has become overwhelming. His wife Rana is doing everything she can-working hard to cover rent and keep a roof over their heads. But every dollar she earns is going toward housing, and now they’re struggling to cover mounting medical bills, prescriptions, and everyday essentials like food, utilities, and gas to get to chemo appointments. Family members are stepping in where they can, such as with car payments as transportation to treatment and Rana’s job are critical.
