This is my dad Michael Card. He went in for a check up due to having shortness of breath and heart palpitations back in February only to be told he needed emergency quadruple bypass surgery the following day. Due to complications post surgery he suffered what they called a shower stroke. Because of complications from the stroke he has paralysis of his right side. He didn’t have much in savings when all this occurred so he and his wife are in a financial bind. This all happened quick and unexpected. His wife, Robin, has to come up with a percentage of his fee for the supplies for daily living to meet his needs when he goes home. His insurance will only cover 2 more weeks in the rehabilitation hospital he is in currently, then his wife will have to take him home. Their church is providing all cost for the ramp and a few other adjustments to their home to make his coming home possible, but there are several other debts that still need funding.
