<div><strong>Matt has been battling cancer since 2019.</strong> He was diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer, also known as tonsil cancer, which is a head and neck cancer that occurs when abnormal cells in the oropharynx grow uncontrollably. The oropharynx is the part of the throat behind the mouth, including the tonsils, soft palate, and base of the tongue.

<div>He has gone through two rounds of chemotherapy/immunotherapy to better his chances for the future.

<div>He is now at Stage 4 with malignant neoplasm metastatic cancer to both lungs (HCC), which refers to the spread of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a primary liver cancer, to both lungs. This signifies advanced-stage cancer, as the lung is a common site for HCC metastasis. Treatment and prognosis depend on various factors, including the extent of metastasis, overall patient health, and response to therapy.

<div><strong>He started chemotherapy again last week.</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>His kidney functions are very low and for that reason, it’s difficult to continue with chemotherapy.
</div>
<div>He has appointments and gets hydration multiple days each week. This is a lot of travel on him. This illness and stress take a toll on him, but he doesn’t vocalize much about it.
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>I would love to help him and put a smile on his face. Whether it’s including him in your nightly prayer or sending $1 to help with travel expenses and financial stresses, it’s truly appreciated.</strong>

<div><strong>Matt’s car is having issues starting, causing him to be broken down, using physical energy he doesn’t have anymore to try and fix the issue so he can get back on the road. If there is any way to help it’s appreciated. </strong>

<div>Matt is a father, a papaw (x6), and a strong warrior.
</div>

<div>Positive messages are encouraged.

<div>It’s good for the soul to feel such joy from those who love and care for you. Take the time now to communicate and give uplifting thoughts towards Matt. Having a positive attitude and understanding takes you very far in life.

<div>Watching my own mother in such high spirits really made a difference in how she lived the rest of her life (while battling colon cancer), and it was all due to the support, love, and good vibes those put out to her. The constant prayers and friends who came forward to be with her. I believe he deserves the same.
</div>
