<div>On July 1, 2025 my husband and I (I under DACA) were detained by Ice. I was able to get released with an ankle monitor but my husband was not. This has been devastating for our family specially our 5 year old non-Verbal autistic son, since he doesn't understand why his dad hasn't been able to come home or even where he is at. He waits every night for his dad and each night he falls asleep without seeing him home.

<div>My husband was the provider of our family while I made sure to our son attended ABA, speech, OT, feeding therapies or any other activities. With my husband gone, everything falls on me. While im trying to make sure our son continues with his therapies im also trying to take care of the financial part such as bills, rent, my son's needs, and legal costs (since I hired an immigration lawyer to fight for both our cases.)

<div>El 1 de Julio de 2025, mi esposo y yo ( protegida bajo DACA) fuimos detenidos por ICE. Yo pude ser liberada con un grillete, pero mi esposo aún sigue detenido. Esto ha sido devastador para nuestra familia, especialmente para nuestro hijo que es autista no- verbal que tiene solo 5 años, y el no entiende por qué su papá no ha podido volver a casa, oh dónde se encuentra, el espera a su papá todas las noches y cada noche se duerme sin verlo.

<div>Mi esposo era el sostén de nuestra familia mientras yo me aseguraba de que nuestro hijo asistiera a terapias de análisis de comportamiento aplicado (ABA), lenguage, terapia ocupacional, terapia de alimentación o cualquier otra actividad.

<div>Sin mi esposo, todo cae sobre mí. Mientras intento asegurarme de que nuestro hijo continúe con sus terapias, también me ocupo de los gastos financieros, como los biles, la renta, las necesidades de nuestro hijo y los gastos legales (ya que contraté a un abogado de inmigración para que luche por ambos casos).
