Wednesday my Dad called my mom around lunchtime that he was having chest pain. We met him at Methodist in Olive Branch. When he arrived his BP was stroke level & he had 3 seizures inside. After many CT’s, it confirmed that he had an aortic dissection which is a tear in your main artery, many die suddenly & do not know what is actually happening because they chalk it up as anxiety or heartburn. His Dad also died from aortic dissection at the same age, 42. My brothers will get tested, it is genetic sadly. Methodist flew my Dad by helicopter to where we are now, University of Methodist in Memphis. He was prepped in the helicopter & immediately went into open heart surgery. He is currently still on a vent. It was confirmed that he had many strokes. We have been here since Wednesday afternoon 9/11 & have a long road ahead of us. My Mom did fill out a short term disability through his job so he will receive some financially assistance but My mom is not working at the moment, so she can remain by his side. She did not ask me to make this & never asks for help but I know she needs it & would appreciate anything given to help with bills. She is such a giver herself. She is a known photographer in Olive Branch. Most know my Dad from towing before his job now. He is a very harder worker so it’s heartbreaking seeing him like this. We haven’t seen his eyes open or heard his voice since Wednesday. He has a long road ahead of him, PT, OT, speech & more. Before being vented a second time, he did not know who my Mom was. If you can not help which we completely understand because everyone is struggling please continue to pray for him. If you do not want to donate on here, I can put her Venmo Laurie-Valenzuela-4 it is a picture of my Dad & her. Once he wakes, they still need to see if neurologically something is wrong with him due to the seizures & strokes. Thank you to anyone who helps and or prays for us. God hears our prayers.
