Aid for Venezuelans in crisis

Donation protected
Hello everybody,
It has been a struggle for me to come up with this campaign and reach out to ask for help.
As most of you might know by now, Venezuela is going through the most difficult times, politically and socially, that I and so many more can remember or witnessed.
I have been in Canada for over 20 years and have never had the need to send or ask for any help for those back home, but this time feels, and it is obviously to me, critical to try helping my home country.
It broke my heart to witness people dying for the lack of basic needs, families searching for food in the garbage while they are leaving in a country that used to be one of the riches in Latin America.
I am very aware that this situation is not unique around the world, and there is many more countries just like mine that need the help, but I feel that, by me helping my Country, I am making a difference.
Unfortunately, the only thing that helps at this moment is money, and more specifically Dollars.
I have figured a way to make the money reach those that can help since I can't directly send it because of a currency control that has been imposed for a few years and how to send goods from Canada.
The money will hopefully help to purchase water purification tablets, non perishable food and hopefully portable power generators because due to the power outage adults, children and babies are dying. There is no power still restored and incubators are useless, food in people's homes are going spoiled and hospitals can operate.
Obviously, I can't help everyone but I have decided to focus the help on children who can have a decent meal and are seeing digging the garbage for food for their families and themselves,  and therefore can make it to school.
I have reach out and partner up with a foundation called PAN DE VIDA, who runs a program that has feed and educated about 15,000 kids in the last 6 years, through four active community kitchens and dinning rooms who are being supplied  by a private chain of supermarkets called Automercados Plazas.
Also, part of the plan is to send at least two boxes from here with the non perishable food, water tablets, OTC medication for children and adults, baby formula, diapers, feminine and personal hygiene products. I will also send flash lights and batteries to help with the intermittent power outages the country is experiencing. These boxes will be sent with Interconnection Trading Cargo, a Toronto based cargo company that services people with families in Venezuela, among other Latin countries.
I will be forever grateful to those who can and want to help, but also to those who can't if they can spread the word.
It will be a private page because I'm not very comfortable asking for money to others beside my friends, but feel free to share the link with people you share and want to help.
Please find Pan de Vida's link if you are interested in knowing more about their work. There you'll also find an interview by CNN on their great project.
