Help Support Carmelo & Denise Through a Medical Crisis

My name is Jamin, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister Denise and her husband Carmelo Ocasio, two of the most loving, giving people I know—people who are now facing one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

On June 4th, Carmelo underwent double bypass heart surgery. It was unexpected, intense, and left their family in a fragile and uncertain place. While we were all hoping for rest and recovery, life brought another unexpected blow: Denise was hospitalized with multiple blood clots in her lungs and legs, a very serious and dangerous condition.

As if that weren’t enough, Denise is also battling Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Crohn’s disease, and now, more recently, she has been diagnosed with a degenerated disc in her spine that causes her intense pain and limited mobility. Even the simplest daily chores have become difficult.

It’s one of those moments where you stop and ask yourself, “How much can one family take?” The weight of it all is overwhelming. And yet, in the middle of all this suffering, their faith has not wavered.

Denise and Carmelo are believers. They know what the medical reports say. But they also know what God is capable of. We believe in the complete healing that only He can bring. And we trust that even in the hardest seasons, He provides—often through the love and kindness of others.

At the same time, the reality is they urgently need help to:

- Pay medical bills that are overflowing

- Cover household expenses

- Buy groceries and daily essentials

All to ensure Diego, their son with Autism, continues to receive the care and stability he depends on.
