Gigglewoods was a nature-based early childhood education program located in Summerville, South Carolina. Founded by Jennifer Stratton, the program aimed to address the "nature deficit" among young learners by offering outdoor learning experiences. Jennifer, with over 25 years in early childhood education, was inspired to create Gigglewoods after observing children increasingly engaged with screens rather than outdoor activities.
Gigglewoods fosters children's growth, personal skills, education, confidence, respect, and so much more. The curriculum at Gigglewoods was designed to build on children's innate curiosity through four key learning elements. These elements incorporated nature skills, math concepts, vocabulary development, scientific tools, balance, and spatial awareness in a playful, low-stress environment.
In 2025, this piece of joy for our children and for Mrs. Jennifer was stripped away. Leading to a family business having to close its' doors and for countless children and families to see their unique and beloved outdoor classroom taken from them.
Through the years of court battles, of which town and county legislators approved that Gigglewoods was permissible to continue, it was determined by Judge Goodstein that it must cease it's teachings on their own land where there is no HOA. None of the neighbors had that brought upon this suit though it reasonable or sensible to talk with Mrs. Jennifer in person yet filled her mailbox with hate filled anonymous letters delivered illegally to her mailbox until the lawsuit over land use was filed.
Not only did this rob children of joy, happiness, growth, and independence, it has led to over $80,000 in court and lawyers fees and judgement to have a families private land relandscaped all at the expense of the home owner's.
Please help to support the Stratton family as they continue to stay positive and be a beacon of sunshine even through a stark in justice.
