Aid for Simeon's Widow, Lec

Mike and I are starting this fundraiser on behalf of our friends, Tom and Precy Conry. Precy's family, who live in the Philippines, recently lost her father, Simeon. In addition to grieving their beloved husband and father, the family has gone heavily into debt to pay the medical bills—taking out loans and even selling off some of their land.

Anyone familiar with the American medical system knows how easily one emergency can turn someone's finances upside down. Lec (Simeon's widow) is facing the same situation. Simeon was also the main source of income for the family, so anything we can do to help pay the medical bills/loans and raise some extra funds beyond that will allow her some breathing room as she begins this new phase of her life.

The medical bills alone total 750,000 Filipino pesos, which is almost exactly $13,000 U.S. dollars. We set the fundraising goal at $15,000 U.S. to give Lec a little extra. However, any donations, of whatever dollar amount, would be most welcome.
