My name is Jenny, and I am Princess’s human momma. Princess is a 6-year-old Shih Tzu that we adopted from the shelter about 6 months ago. She’s an incredibly sweet and loving little pup, and my girls and I have grown very fond of her as she’s settled into our family.

A few months after she joined us, I noticed a small bump on the top of her head that began growing rapidly. I took her to the vet, where they removed the mass and also performed a dental. During the dental, they discovered a dentigerous cyst in her gum, which needs to be removed. The cyst is eroding her jaw bone so there is only a small fragment of bone remaining. If it’s not addressed, her jaw is at risk of breaking within the next couple of months.

The estimated cost for her procedure was initially between $3500 and $5200. After explaining my situation as a single mom who is unable to afford such a large expense for dog care, the doggie oral surgeon was able to give me a bare minimum estimate of around $3000. I’m currently exploring ways to raise funds to ensure Princess gets the care she needs.

A few friends suggested I start a GoFundMe, and while I’m not in a position to turn down any help for our little Princess, I fully understand that there are many important causes out there. We absolutely do not expect anyone to contribute, but we would be incredibly grateful for any support to help cover this unexpected and significant cost. Every little bit helps.
