<div>My name is Sherice Campbell, and I’m originally from New Market, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Recently, our island was hit hard by Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 storm that made landfall in St. Elizabeth and rampaged through the entire parish and across much of Jamaica. Homes were destroyed, crops were wiped out, and many families have been left without shelter or basic necessities.

<div>While some aid is being directed to Black River, the parish capital, I’m deeply concerned that many of the smaller, outlying communities, like New Market and the surrounding districts, may not receive the urgent help they need. These areas are often harder to reach and can easily be overlooked in large-scale relief efforts.

<div>My heart aches seeing the emotional and physical toll this disaster has taken on my people. <strong>I want to be part of the recovery by sending supplies to families throughout the community who are struggling to get back on their feet.</strong> I’ve already started organizing donations of clothing, food, and basic supplies, but many people have reached out asking how they can contribute financially instead. That’s why I created this GoFundMe, for those who can’t send physical items but still want to help.
