Hi, my name is Bertha. I currently live in Montgomery, AL. My husband's name is Timothy, and we have two children, a boy and a girl, ages 6 and 10.

A month ago, my husband had several strokes and a seizure. He was on a ventilator helping him breathe. He's making progress and is off the ventilator now, but he still can't move his right side at all. He was the one that was working, and now I don't know how I'm going to get the bills paid or get my kids' school clothes.

I've been by his side every day. I'm back and forth from home to the hospital every day, and I need food and gas. I never thought anything like this would ever happen to us. It hurts to see my husband laying in this hospital bed every day.

Now he's got to go to Birmingham, Alabama, to a special hospital that's going to try and help him get back to almost like he was. I will be there with him, and my mother-in-law will look after the kids for me. Anything would help. It's just been so hard for me.
