<div>My 74 year old grandmother from Danville Ky is currently in the ICU after being in a Coma on life support for over a week stemming from a scam that took her entire life savings.

<div>She has several medical issues and recently sold her home that her and my grandfather worked hard their entire life to pay off so that she could move closer to town. A scammer got word of that info some how, and convinced her that she was being investigated by the social security administration for fraud. What appeared to be Official court documents were sent to her and he convinced her to sign a fake non disclosure so she wouldn’t tell her family with threat of arrest if she did (I have attached a few of the many items she was sent). He also included steps to verify he was an actually employee (he was using a real employees info).

<div>He said that the court had to hold funds to cover the fraud until her name could be cleared. They had her take all of her life savings and the money from the sale of her home and exchange it for gold coins in Lexington. Someone met her in a bank parking lot on 2/13 in Lexington and made her give them almost 180,000 dollars to avoid being arrested and convinced her she would get it back once the “fraud” was cleared. Once she left the parking lot the person disconnected the phone and ceased communication. She did take photos in the parking lot of several vehicles that we later found on her phone.

<div>We took my grandmother to the Boyle county sheriffs office who said they couldn’t help despite the evidence we had and possible security camera footage from the bank parking lot. They directed us to file a complaint with the attorney generals office who also refused to help despite all of the texts, photos, and hopeful security cam footage from the parking lot that day. We were told that they only “track” fraud and don’t investigate it.

<div>Due to the stress of everyone refusing to take the case and the fact that she gave away her entire life savings and home within seconds to a stranger, my grandmother overdosed on her medication later that night and is still in ICU.

<div>Since this incident, her local bank was finally able to get us in touch directly with an FBI agent who agreed to take her case. Although we are hopeful someone will be caught, we know the money from her home and life savings is gone forever.
</div>

<div>We are trying to raise enough money to figure out a living situation for her now that she has nothing and to cover the care she is going to need medically. People in the area know our family and know that we never ask for anything. We appreciate anyone who is able to donate and especially appreciate everyone that is willing to say a prayer. We hope that at the least, this will help other elderly in our community from falling for this.
