<div>I’ve been asked to update everyone regarding Chelsea. She passed peacefully on the evening of 10/1/25 about 10:20pm surrounded by people who loved her. We will sincerely miss her physical presence, but her suffering has ended and we are forever thankful for that. We continue to ask for prayers of healing during this difficult time and to respect the privacy of her family as they grieve. Arrangements for a celebration of life will be held at a later date and is yet TBD.

<div>Update 10/1/25:

<div>For those of you wondering, we now have transferred Chelsea to a hospice house as of 9/29 not far from her home. She is surrounded by so much love, peace and beauty here. Her bed faces an open picture window of a beautiful lake, a place of stillness. This is truly what she wanted in the end. We aren’t sure if she has days or weeks, but what we do know is she is SO loved through all of this.

<div>She struggles to communicate and what she is able to speak is mostly mumbling that’s incredibly difficult to understand for all of us. She is bedridden at this time. With hospice, she is of course seeking comfort measures only. Thank you for continued prayers as her journey here comes to a close whenever God calls her home.

</div>
<div>Please do not feel obligated to offer any monetary donation, however I have had many people ask. If anyone that continues to feel compelled to donate, room/board is not covered by insurance. For example, the first 15 days up front requires at least $6,000 down. As you can imagine this add up rather quickly. Any value to help cover this expense is greatly appreciated by Chelsea and the family.

<div>Update 9/18/25:
</div>
<div>It’s been awhile since I’ve posted an update so I figured I would share a brief overview of what has transpired since my previous post. Chelsea was able to regain back most of her ability to communicate, although she still has times of mixing words/names/confusion. She is also very weak and it takes immense energy to do much of anything. Her doctors have attributed her previous complication as both side effects/reaction to the chemotherapy as well as disease progression. Unfortunately, her oncology team has determined that she is no longer a candidate for treatment moving forward. They have encouraged her to pursue palliative and hospice care.

<div>She was discharged from the hospital for a few days to spend time with family back home as well as go to a local waterpark which was the more feasible option for her for various reasons. She thoroughly enjoyed watching her daughter play and Chelsea was able to be wheeled into the water with a water accessible wheelchair. She LOVED this! We are so thankful for the accommodations that Zehnder’s Splash Village in Frankenmuth provided her. I will share a few updated pictures below of this. She was also able to attend a church service back home and enjoy a cookout with family. She is currently back in the hospital, and this upcoming week, it will be two weeks that she has been back there.

<div>We are currently trying to navigate hospice services at a facility at her request, details around this are still pending. What we do know this far is that insurance does not cover room and board for hospice which is going to be an out of pocket of at least $300/day +.

<div>We continue to appreciate the support on behalf of Chelsea and the Broome family as they continue to navigate this difficult prognosis.

<div>Chelsea continues to welcome prayers and well wishes for comfort when her time does come. She has endorsed to me how she is learning to be at peace with God regarding her prognosis, however continues to feel immense grief and sorrow regarding the physical absence that will be for her daughter, Tiana and her husband, Dylan.

<div>UPDATE 8/27/25:
</div>
<div>Chelsea is currently back in the hospital after what we believe to be a possible severe side effect of her chemo infusion. Her second dose of this was 8/26 and within a short period of time of receiving this she started developing confusion, generalized weakness, severe body tremors and has now been struggling to communicate her needs. She has transient periods lasting maybe a few minutes of coherency and then it quickly dissipates. We still aren’t certain if this will improve or if this is her new “normal.” They are running more tests to rule out other causes for these symptoms she’s having. We continue to ask for prayers as we navigate some of the new issues that arise. Thank you all for the generosity and support this far, the Broome family has already expressed sincere gratitude for all the donations! If anyone has tried to reach out to Chelsea or Dylan, please respect they are currently dealing with a lot and it’s not intentional if you do not receive a message/call back!

<div>As you may or may not know, Chelsea (Husted) Broome has been battling a terminal breast cancer diagnosis. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative BRCA2+ breast cancer in April, 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, despite receiving eight rounds of chemotherapy, she started developing dizziness, headaches, and double vision which led her to the ER in July. While she was in the hospital for over two weeks, her doctors discovered the cancer cells have migrated into her spinal cord and brain. The cells have also spread throughout her lungs, liver, and entire spine.

<div>Chelsea was given a difficult prognosis and informed by her oncology team that if she pursues chemotherapy infusions into the spinal fluid itself, and potential radiation treatments, she may statistically have an average of 3 to 4 months left here with us. Without any treatment at all, they estimated she’d have less than a month.
</div>

</div>
<div>Chelsea has decided to pursue treatment in hopes of being able to spend what time she has left doing fun activities with her daughter, Tiana (Tia). While in the hospital, Chelsea had a chemotherapy port surgically placed into her skull to receive chemo directly to her spinal fluid. This form of treatment has been well-received thus far.
</div>

<div>Chelsea’s greatest wish is to join Tia in celebrating her second birthday in October. Chelsea has also expressed a few wishes for activities she would like to do with her family before God calls her home. Some of Chelsea‘s last wishes here with us are to go to Universal Studios and visit Harry Potter World. Another wish that she has is to take her daughter Tiana to Great Wolf Lodge to spend a few days with her there as Tia loves the water.

<div>With this campaign, we hope to decrease her family’s financial burden as well as raise enough funds to allow Chelsea to be able to pursue her last wishes without any cost to her.
</div>

<div>Due to multiple hospitalizations, chemotherapy infusions, diagnostic imaging, loss of wages, and other challenges, her medical and other related expenses have been quickly accumulating over the last few months. Her husband, Dylan, has been doing all he can to support the family while Chelsea has been in and out of work and undergoing treatments. Unfortunately, Chelsea is unable to work moving forward, so the full financial impact is unknown at this time.
</div>

<div>This is a financial impact that no family should have to manage alone. We are asking the community for donations to help aid their family during this difficult time.
</div>

<div>I have asked Chelsea and Dylan for permission to host a GoFundMe in support of their family for any current and future financial needs. A donation of any amount is deeply appreciated. If all you are able to offer are your prayers for Chelsea, Dylan, and Tia, those are also gratefully accepted and deeply appreciated. As Chelsea has said herself, the chances are never zero and we all continue to pray for a miracle. She instead continues to “choose joy” in all of this.

<div>Chelsea’s biggest concern is that Tia will be taken care of in the best way possible in her absence. Thank you for helping us give Chelsea the greatest level of financial peace possible. There is great strength in community and we sincerely thank you for being part of the Broome family’s support system. Thank you for reading, sharing, and donating. Each and every one of you is a profound blessing to Chelsea and her family during this very difficult time.
