My name is Carina Child. Last December 2024, I was asked to vacate my apartment because my landlord was upset with me for having a roommate. I had been telling her for some time that it's a struggle for me with the rent, though I have never missed one payment for the ten years I've lived there. What really broke me is that she gave me three months. I said to her I can't pay rent and save to find another apartment, so she insisted I have to pay her during that time and I also can borrow money from people. So I replied, how am I going to pay back what I don't have? Because I have known them for so many years, I looked at her as a mother. There's a good history in spite of how I was pushed out. I could have stayed and not paid rent to save enough to be able to move. So now I am living with a friend, and I'm very grateful for having a place to rest my head, but it comes with challenges. I struggle with knee joint issues i have degenerative osteoarthritis too much walking up steps,standing, and sitting is a lot, and the apartment is on the 3rd floor walk-up, so it's a lot. I am trying to save for an apartment with an elevator or a ground floor also i have applied for low income appartment withhousingconnect. I'm employed and working, but my income is small. I am still grateful to have a job, but I need help. I will need a backup to help me cover until I can do better financially. So I'm asking all the good people out there for their support.
