This is Birdie, a just turned 8 month old German Shepard female from an unknown NY breeder.
I decided to take on Birdie because her young owner ran into significant health issues resulting in multiple hospital stays during her critical training stages. At the end, he realized she was too much of a dog for him, one that developed destructive bad habits. For the most part, I can't blame her , nor others for not wanting to take on an unspayed, highly destructive, undisciplined female that is not crate trained.
What is great about Birdie is she has NO DOG AGGRESSION, NO FOOD AGGRESSION, allows me to trim nails, and touch every part of her body with a nonchalant attitude. She negotiated my canine agility course with some hesitation but immediately took my cues and did everything I asked.
Wanting to keep her as she does rather well with us and my dogs, I took the plunged and enrolled her in a 3 week training course with a professional training. This is daily training with a local trainer, V3 Gun Dogs and one of their best trainers, Mike. She is getting the training she needs to lead a happy and nondestructive life.
Spaying her is a priority as well and will be done at Suffield Veterinary Hospital.
I am asking for help with he extensive training that includes subsequent private lessons to maintain her success, a thorough exam by my vet as well as a spay.
If you can help, I will be forever grateful. Anything above and beyond the fundraiser will be donated to a reputable large breed dog rescue organization in the New England area.
Thank you.
