Christina and I are having financial difficulties the last two months since we took ownership of Bear. A couple of weeks after not hearing back from his previous owner about his vet and vaccination history, we took him to Fairway Knolls Veterinary Hospital here in Bloomington. We got him rabies and distemper, but he also had to be treated for fleas as he was constantly scratching himself and had larvae in his stool. The total bill was about $320.
A day after we took him to the dog park on the 4th of July, he was vomiting and had diarrhea. Since it was the weekend, we had to take him to the McLean County Emergency Vet, where he was administered some shots and medication to take home, which ended up being just under $420.
As we've had to shell out $740 in a short period of time, it has impacted out ability to pay rent and bigger bills over the last month. We've gotten as much help as we could from my mom and other sources, but we are still in need of $300 just to get our account current and another $300 so I can pay our cell phone and internet by Monday. Without those, we face cancellation and I use my phone for work and need internet to do my freelance graphic design.
Christina has tried to find work. She tried to worked for 2 months at a store, but the place was too toxic and she was developing physical issues that were being caused by the physical demands of that job.
I don't expect us to get as much help this time like after I had my stroke over 3 years ago, but I am not able to just jump to any job. The two main jobs I have are physically demanding and take a lot out of me. I keep on looking for jobs like what I used to have at Owen, but no bites. Any help is greatly appreciated by both of us. If we are in a better place to pay people back, we will try. Thank you all!
