Aid DV Advocate &Mom-in-Crisis facing Homelessness

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Grateful for the contributions thus far.

In the last 48 hours, things have gotten more dire. I have had my banking account hacked and drained of what little was left in it. I am working with the bank and its fraud department. They have informed me that if the investigation yields a return of the funds, it will be 3 to 6 months.

Additionally, I was informed that the housing that I have been struggling to maintain will not even be an option as of February 2nd. The landlord is selling the home. This means I will now need resources for moving and an actual place to move to.

These are significant setbacks, and I have to admit that it's taken a pretty big overall toll. But I'm doing my best to not lose sight of hope.

PREFACE:

WE KNOW.

WE KNOW EVERYONE IS SICK OF SEEING THE GOFUNDME’S.

AND IT'S BECOME EASIER AND EASIER TO SCROLL PAST.

THERE DEVELOPS SOME SENSE OF DISBELIEF.

SOMEONE IS IN NEED;

TIME PASSES;

AND YET THEY CLAIM TO CONTINUE TO BE IN NEED?!?

-BECAUSE, “HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLY STILL BE GOING ON?!?”

AND WE GET IT.

THE TRUTH IS ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE OF THAT VERY UNDERSTANDABLE KNEE JERK CONCLUSION.

BECAUSE,

IT IS STILL GOING ON.

IN MANY WAYS, BECAUSE OF THE PASSAGE OF TIME, THINGS ARE IN FACT FAR WORSE, NOW.

AND THE HARDER TRUTH, STILL-

THE MORE WE CHOOSE TO LOOK THE OTHER WAY:

THE MORE WE BECOME NOT JUST A NON-PARTICIPANT,

BUT A PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Please, help this victim/survivor(-ing) of relentless, ongoing domestic violence, post-separation torture and family court abuse who has spent most of the last many years doing ceaseless, payless work for fellow surviving women and mothers.

*For protective purposes, we are not going to use names at this time.

She has been on the exceptional end of the financial destruction spectrum which so many find themselves trying to navigate; in this way (as in ALL of the others), “leaving” did nothing to stop the infliction.

>There is no “rebuilding” of a life when you have to flee for your own…when you are hunted like prey across the country, and when the insidious nature of corruption, terrorism and pervasive coercive control have NEVER LET UP.

>There is no access to individual personhood and autonomy.

>There is only the dizzying, ever-changing reality of the living hell in a book written by individuals and one in particular addicted to the victim’s destruction.

Her abusive ex-husband is a LAWYER at a huge local law firm.

((If you have any experience with family law as a protective parent,

try to imagine how every aspect of what you have faced/continue to face would be immeasurably heightened if your abuser were a protected member of the court))

(The above text from her abuser was only the tip of the iceberg of post-separation abuse.)

She is now 8+ years into trying to just tread water.

Not only has this man put his hands on her in a violent manner, he’s violently put his hands on their youngest as well. He was investigated by CPS after attacking both mother and their 16-year-old daughter at the time.

Dare I even mention the man not only cheating on her throughout marriage.. but cheating with UNDERAGE TEENAGE SWers? Why, yes. A predator of many hats.

Both of her daughters were weaponized, with the (successful) intention of maternal sabotage and erasure. She survived four years without seeing them, touching them, giving them a hug…being able to know that they were okay AT ALL.

-Both remain at varying levels of estrangement.

Her abuser swiftly turned her already abusive family members against her, successfully enlisting them in his army of destruction. He effectively rendered them to withdraw what could have been critical, life-saving/sustaining support from an emotional and mental aspect, and from any financial aspect as well.

But it was not only the withdrawal; they contributed in his campaign to turn the girls, to isolate her and to support his agenda across the board.

When this man was finally arrested on invasion of privacy (like I said earlier, a predator of many hats..), he was able to hire none other than Mike Tyson’s rape defense attorney and got off on a technicality.

She has NEGATIVE $25,000 to her name from racked up legal fees, having to live off of credit cards, etc etc etc…

She is now facing immediate threat of eviction, having finally obtained housing after being homeless off and on for years. The car she relies on has died.

She has tried and is continuing to try for assistance via what we think of as traditional avenues.

Without immediate help, she faces a harsh winter on the streets or worse, including the possibility of jailing for failure to pay, etc.

Myriad of medical issues, to boot.. most of which are exacerbated by all of the above.

Yes, it’s a big number that would be required to make a major, sustaining impact.

But, please know that ANYTHING helps and would be met with profound gratitude.
