Support for Melissa

On June 17th around 2pm, Melissa was riding her bicycle on her way home from work and was hit and run over by an SUV on Reno Blvd. The impact caused a liver laceration, 11 broken ribs, and lung damage, which required major surgery to remove half of her liver and additional surgery to treat an intestinal blockage. 2 weeks later, she is still in the hospital recovering. We are starting this fundraiser to help her cover medical expenses and living costs, as she has been out of work since the accident and the timetable for her release from the hospital is still unknown. Friends of Melissa's know she is full of life and approaches every day with a positive mindset, and those closest to her also know excited she has been about her new job, which she began just a few months ago.
